Tsushima Natural Stone
Mined on the island of Tsushima. This is relatively soft, 3000-5000 grit equivalent stone, great for sharpening kiriha and for building a foundation of a great kasumi finish. It is less likely to leave big scratch marks like some stones and gets a really nice mild finish on the bevel. This should not be soaked in water as it can cause cracking or breaking. The backside is also sealed with a cashew lacquer to ensure the integrity of the stone, but also to keep it flat.
